Horseshoes...for a bit.

Date night part two!  After finishing up at the Aviary, Arie walked us back to the car to retrieve a mystery item or two from the trunk for the next chapter of the evening.  There they were, the four horseshoes we found in our shed upon moving into our home (years ago).  We've said it over and over again, every time we walked past the horseshoe area at the park, "We need to play horseshoes!"  Well, apparently it was finally time.

Horseshoes are a blast! But also completely difficult. We were laughing and attempting our best representation of professional horseshoers.  But, well, let's just say not a single ringer occurred.  Everything was peachy until I got a little overzealous with a toss.  It went over the backboard and, well...

Broken horseshoe.  Luckily we'd already had quite a while with the game and were ready to wind down a bit.  We went through a few more rounds then made our way over to the nearby koi pond to hang out for a while.  I'll say it again, it's crazy how having a different intention for such a regularly visited location can change up the experience.  We felt like we were visiting a brand new place.

After a while enjoying the park it was off to The Sun and Moon Cafe. I have to say, Husband did a great job planning an evening for the two of us to enjoy.

Thanks Love!
